Aloe Vera has been used for centuries to calm irritated skin. ISHISO’s Dry 2 Alive contains a high proportion of Aloe Vera Leaf Extract to provide natural moisturisation to dry irritated skin. Amaranth Seed Extract Amaranth Seed Extract. This lovely, clear yellow oil is nutrient-rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, plant sterols, tocopherols, and squalen. Amaranth Seed CO2 Extract is highly recommended by herbalists for use in moisturising creams and lotions. Amaranth Seed Oil has historically been recommended to calm and soothe the skin and improve elasticity. Baobab Seed Oil Baobab oil has recently come into the press as wonder oil! It contains vitamins A, B E which are known for their natural anti-oxidant properties. Many cosmetic chemists and expensive brand put Baobab into their anti-ageing formulas. At ISHISO we believe everyone should have supple skin free from the irritation of dry skin. We use the best Baobab seed oil to provide you with all the benefits of Baobab in a cream.
Borage is made by pressing the oil from starflower seeds. It has been historically used in dry skin remedies as it is believed to penetrate into the skin quickly and complements the Rosehip seed oil in Dry 2 Alive. It is indigenous to Europe but is now cultivated in North America as well as other places. Calendula Extract Calendula (Marigold) is one of the best known healing herbs and has been widely used by herbalist through the century as far back as ancient Egypt. It is native to Southern Europe and Egypt. Calendula CO2 extract is a more concentrated form of the oil. Calendula has been used by herbalist for the most minor of skin problems and was believed to be anti-inflammatory and regenerative including uses for sensitive skin. Many formulas for dry skin also contain this herb because of this. Chickweed Extract Chickweed extract has been historically used in eczema and psoriasis home remedies. Many herbalists recommend the use of this herb in a poultice for those with severe eczema or psoriasis. Our formula is gentle yet hydrating; we have included chickweed as an extract to provide the benefits of chickweed in your cream. The marshmallow plant is an upright perennial with a fleshy taproot, downy stems and velvety leaves, with pale pink flowers in summer. The popular fluffy marshmallow sweets were once made from the root extract. The flowers may be used to make expectorant syrups. This sweet, mucilaginous herb is believed by herbalists to contain expectorant properties and also soothes and softens tissue, while controlling bacterial infections. Mahonia Extract Herbalists typically use Mahonia to treat skin complaints like Psorasis. They believe it has a healing effect on this skin. We use it in very small doses to provide additional care for dry and sensitive skin. Oatmeal Kernel Extract. Oatmeal Kernel Extract or Avena sativa is a member of the Poaceae, or “grasses” family. Wild oats (Avena) likely originated in Eurasia and were first grown (sativa) in Greece and Rome around 400BC to 1st century AD. This nutrient-rich, ancient grass is now grown throughout the world and valued for its many uses. While the traditional use of oats in folklore is well-established and has stood the test of time, modern science has documented excellent efficacy as well. Studies have repeatedly demonstrated the benefits of oats and oat derivatives in skin care products.
Olive Squalane is derived from Olive Oil and is absorbed quickly by the skin. . It is colourless, transparent and is fragrance free. The substance Squalane is also found in the livers of sharks that are found in deep ocean waters and studies have shown that it keeps the oils in the liver in a liquid state down to a temperature of -38°C. The vegetable-based Squalane that we use has the same qualities. It is therefore very effective in Winter Protection Creams. Rosehip Seed Oil Our Rosehip seed oil has been historically used in anti-ageing formulas, stretch marks preparations and products for dry and sensitive skin. Its properties provide easy penetration of the skin without feeling greasy help to make Dry 2 Alive a deeply moisturising experience! Essential Oils: Essential oils provide a naturally uplifting scent. We use a unique blend of lavender, geranium and chamomile to provide a gentle scent which is appealing to both children and adults! |
